    Anodizing-Good or Bad Idea

I have a polished Classic body and would like to have it annoed either black or have it Chrome Plated. I need to know:
    1. Where to get this done(what kind of places do this?)
    2. Can it effect the performance of the marker.
    3. What should I expect to pay?
    I have no Sig.

    Good Traders

Paintball Talk is the main forum for Automags.org. Here is where we talk about the sport of paintball in general and make announcements relating to the forum and website.

You can't anodize steel, only aluminum.

PK Selective Metal Coating will anodize, among other things as well I believe.

you can't anodize steel. it's not that we don't like you it's just that it has to do with the positive and negative ion charges of the metal. and steel is an alloy. a combination of a number of alkoline medals and doesn't react right with a positively charged solution. aluminum however is one single metal and does what it's told. if you want me to go into deeper depth with the process of this, let me know. but you probably couldn't give a rats @$$.

Yes you can Powder coat the body and I believe that RedRider does this for AO members. I believe that he charges $20 for the body and $5 for each additional part like a Grip, or trigger Frame. I'm sure that someone knows where the thread is but he posted a thread about free powder coats. he did 2 free coats as a test. A few users from here have dealt with him and all have said wonderful things about his work. I hope this helps.
