How bad is it to use CO2 on a mag?

This has probably been posted a hundred times but how bad is it to run a standard mag off CO2? I have a nitro tank but my friend wants to use my spare mag.

Mags don't shoot darts... they shoot nails.

Mags are meant be run on CO2, as well as compressed air. Because the AIR valve has an internal regulator it's okay to use CO2 on a mag. It is more efficient and less harmful to the valve if you use compressed air(which it seems you can't in this situation). If you don't already have an expansion chamber you should get one and hook it up, otherwise just use a vertical ASA and hookup the CO2 bottle vertically(this will help keep most of the liquid CO2 from going to the valve). Good luck!

      Remington,
I'll agree with everything you said except that nitro is 'more efficient'. Co2 is a more active gas, therefore you will get more shots out of the same size tank than HPA. Everything else he said is right though. Mags run fine on Co2. The best thing you can do is get an x-chamber and anti-siphon tube or remote. Otherwise just run the co2 tank vertical and have a blast!

        Co2 on Mags

You can use Co2 on a 'Mag but make sure you have a good expansion chamber, use a remote setup, or both. Whatever it takes to keep liquid Co2 from freezing the valve. It's especially important if you play in very cold weather. Don't worry if it freezes though, it will just cause your power tube
o-ring to leak a bit until it warms up. If that happens stop shooting till it stops. I used to play on Co2, and I use an ACI 4 stage expansion chamber which helped. Without a chamber your velocity may become unstable.
