Lvl10 Power tube tip. (And adjusting)

I bought a use e-mag, tried to remove the (Lvl10) tip on the power tube to adjust the spacer(?) since the L10 seemed too senstive but using a lighter bolt spring made it too strong.
(I'm including these details to be sure I actually know what I'm doing. )

The problem is I can't get the tip off - it seems the previous owner tightened it too much, and unscrewing just unscrews the bolt-shaft. How do I hold the shaft tighly enough (i.e. vise grips) without damaging it?

if the steel part the the brass tip goes into is turning
when you try to take it off... contact AGD...
the brass tip should be the only part that is moving....

most likely unless you have access to someone that can do a fix they describe, you will most likely have to send the valve in.....

Took a pair of vice grips, wrapped the power tube in a terry cloth towel and closed them down. Then took a wrench and took off the tip. Now it's only finger tight. I learned. (Watch the threads- I cut my fingers on them trying to take the tip off.)

I ended up using some wide rubber bands, and later some weird foam packing material. Thanks.
