    68 classic problem

Bought a 68 classis w/powerfeed several years back must be by now, and of course I was mezmerized by Tom in all his mag video glory, and of course took the gun apart and put it together again over and over...Tom just made it look so easy =p...

My question to anyone that can tell me is this...in the video the powertube was removeable and my series gun was not which I knew so np...however the valve pin and spring "german handgrenade" I think he called it seemed to come out so darn easily for Tom, but when I tried to take it out to clean it at the end of the season, it didnt want to come out at all. And, I'm afraid that once I got it out it might have gotten stretched a little and then to put it back in was a hell of a chore, so im not sure that the integrity of the spring is as supposed to be. Should the spring be able to be taken out or not and, if the model I own is not supposed to come out as the video showed me to...could I have caused dmg to the operation of my gun? seems to operate fine however under rapid fire im experiencing some power down. anyone that can give me some info on this would be greatly appreciated...thanks

There is just a bit more tention holding the spring into the Valve body not really a big deal just use a pick to pull it out. Try not to strech it.

Next 99% of probelms with shoot down will end up pointing to your Reg Seat or your Air system.

Take a look at my reg Seat thread for more details about Reg Seats.

Rob, thanks for the quick response to my inquiry...much appreciated.
still a little concerned as, though i did have and use a pick, it came out so hard that it did stretch some...but mainly as long as it is supposed to be taken out, im not freakin if youd suggest tryin to replace the spring let me know....also as far as power down im not sure i really noticed a problem till i went to high pressure...the tank was brand new...course my reg seat is a little discolored from some co2 use on a cold day so that is prolly my answer.....thx
