    Warpfeed Problems

I went to play today. I had played two times previous to today with my warp and it peformed flawlessly, well i get to today, and i go to chrono and my warp will not feed. It turns really slow. Soo o.k. i throw in a fresh pack of batteries, and still turns really slow, even with no pain int the warp it turns too slow. i checks all my connections and everything. it has that stupid 18volt mod. I am wondering if that could have caused the problem. Any how i am wondering if there is anything i should check before i go and call AGD and send it in. Just let me know some tips. I even changed the belt for it thinking maybe it was strecthed and slipping. and no dice. I need some input on this
    Please help

if its an 18v warp without the 12v regulator, you just offically screwed yourself by burning out the motor

no it is still running throught the PC Board, so it gets regulated down. But I think it is the motor anyways. B/C i can take one brand new 9 volt and hook up to it directly and it still turns slow, like a dead battery. I just need to figure out why the motor burned up now. Regulator shot? Has i need to do some testing

when you wired it to a '18v warp' did you put a 12v DC regulator in it so that it would really be a 12v warp using 2 9v's?

if you didnt do that, you either did something to the board or the motor by overloading it, it should last a while on the full 18v, but after a certain period of use, it'll ususally die

i just did my 12v mod last night with the regulator and all... it works pretty nicely, just gotta wit till friday to try it out at the field

          here is the kicker though
i can take and hook 2 9v batteries together, and measure it with my voltemeter and i am only getting 8.8 volts with 2 brand new batteries. Am i hooking something up wrong? And that is the exact voltage coming out to the motor oh and acutally i did not wire it. someone else did it was like that when i bought it

That is what I am thinking too. If they are rechargable batteries, and you are getting 8.8 volts to the board the batteries are connected in parallel, not series like they are supposed to be. If they are in series, the regulator is fubared, or not connected correctly. (the problem with that is if a transistor fails they normaly just smoke and then not work at all, I have never seen one "change value")

This is a 12v modified warp we are talking about right?

If not, check the continuity on the wires from the battery to the board, there may be a bad connection. The extra resistance will cause a voltage drop.

              Hope this helps

yeah, i talked to him on AIM, and it was actually an un-regulated 18v conversion done by the previus owner

i just recently did the 12v warp mod to mine with the 12v reg in it... now it can feed my hungry ReTro valve that i just got also

I learned the hard way, if you do the 12v mod make sure the caps are there or you will have problems sooner or later. I made a circuit board and installed a switch and an led to mine. There is not much room in there anymore. I plan on removing the batteries soon to run the power off my emag but I have not done that yet.
