    Help with barrel leak

    Hi!

I was trying to help my friend with what appears to be a barrel leak.

When the trigger is pulled, it stopped, but when we replaced the power tube O-ring, the leak seemed to get worse.

Also, I don't think this is a level 7 because it incorporates a spring inside the power tube instead of a spacer.
What else could be causing the leak?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

the spring my be worn out i guess.
tell him to get a pt spacer kit. then use the correct one. says on the pt spacer that certain ones will cause barrel leaks so. makes me think that spring is worn out

The early level 7 valves used springs in the power tubes. They couldn't tune the performance of the power tube like the spacer kits.

The leaking you are experiencing may be acombination of things. You have a worn power tube spring combined with a worn o-ring and a worn sear assembly. You replaced the power tube o-ring but the other items still need to be addressed. The sear may still be useable but you will need the power tube spacer kit to adjust to the new tolerances.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

        Thanks for the replies.
We will try a spacer kit.
If that doesn't work, what is the next step? (trying to think ahead here).

Check the sear. Check the tip that catches the bolt for anything that looks like excessive wear. If the tip is worn and rounded, then it may be a good idea to change it anyway.
