Okay, so I am finishing up my pump mag (Thanks SilverFox!), and gas it up to test (dry) fire. nothing. when I screwed in the co2 (12 gram to asa adaptor), it acted as though it gassed up. The seer/trigger rod seemed to be stiffer, but nothing...
dumped the 12 gram and tried to remove the valve. aughghg - it is stuck. turns out that the valve did actuate and the on/off pin was sticking through the hole in teh bottom of the body.
Not thinking much about it, I then swapped back to semi-parts and tried again - arghghg - same thing (including having to remove the body so I can remove the valve, because of the on/off pin issue.
I just know this thing used to work, I jsut bought the parts used and built a simple PF mag with it a couple months ago! BUT, I had an Intelliframe then, so I went to my box-o-mag-stuff and pulled new blade intelli (reserved for a sluggo xvalve project), and tried it (still with semi-auto parts, no pump kit) - woohoo!! it works!
Well, that verified that the valve and all parts work, except the pump kit and the dye trigger frame.
I double and tripple checked the PDF, Muzicmans website and other AO sources ofr the pumpkit info. I had everything correct, then reinstalled the pump kit and the dye frame.
nothing. this time, since I knew that everything was supposed to work and I was very confident about my pump kit setup, I took a closer look at the dye double trigger frame. Nothin' out of the ordinary. I did notice that the trigger rod didn't seem to stick out as much as it did on the intelli, though.
DUH... so I used a flat piece of metal (ruler) and stuck it in between the rod and trigger and pulled - woohoo, it fired! the rod wasn't comming out far enough! After a bit of trial and error with adjusting the length of that trigger rod, I discovered that I needed to add approximately 2-3 mm to get it to actuate with the dye frame.
Since I am newly comming back to mags (since the LX, I had mags back in the early 90s, and left the paintblendes behind in the middle 90's), I don't know if this is a common thing or just my particular challenge, but just wanted to share my experience with everyone.

Never adjust your trigger rod! Shame on you! I will be praying for your soul, "Forgive him father, for he knows not what he hath done!"
