    rookie with a RT

I'm new with AGD and know nothing about them. I have a minimag with a RT valve in it. I have a stock compressed air setup with no regulators. I don't know if the bolt is stock or not but I believe it is. The serial # is VV01278 I know the guy that owned it before and it is about 3yrs. old but rarely used. I am at the understanding that the trigger is to be reactive and I can't seem to catch the drift on it. Someone told me to find the sweet spot on the trigger by pulling the trigger back slowly but all the trigger does is sputter a little. Also the gun acts a little funny when I shoot fast. It acts like it is having a hard time keeping up and periodically shoots paintballs about 15ft. then starts acting fine. Everything else is pretty stock on it. I'm stupid with these someone please help.

    paintmans,

welcome to the board. I'll try an answer some of your questions.

I'm assuming you have a Retrovalve in your minimag. (RT valves would only fit an RT mag, but otherwise are the same valve). A "reactive" trigger means that the Retro valve will push your trigger back after firing. Now how hard it pushes back the trigger depends on the input pressure you input from your tank into the valve. The higher the input pressure the harder/faster the trigger will return. You will be able to tell the difference of 750 psi vs. 900 psi input by feeling the trigger. I'm assuming your compressed air tank is not adjustable.

Ok, a few questions for you. What kind of tank is it? Do you know what the output pressure is? How full is your tank right now??

It sounds like either there is a problem with your retro valve or you're having a problem feeding it enough air.

What type of setup do you have including trigger frame, air lines, drop, tank type?
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

When the balls only shoot like 15 feet, It could be a short stroke too...
        My feedback...

          Rookie with a Retro

I have a stock compressed air Crossfire tank. I'm guessing it has 800psi output. I have a double trigger and I'm not sure but I think it's a stock bolt. I bought the gun with all this stuff on it so I'm not sure.

What is the brand of trigger frame? If it is after market, then tolerance issues may be causing some of the problems. It does sound like you are short stroking as mentioned earlier. I would check the bolt spring and the sear assembly for wear as well.

I would suggest that you go ahead and put an o-ring kit through it. Old seals and dirt will greatly affect the performance.

yeah. the sputtering and not firing at full pressure could be a bad on/off o ring. i had that problem before...
