    Continuing Valve Problem

Okay, my wife's minimag. A couple of other mag owners and I narrowed down the problem of the gun locking up to a loose valve. What happens is when we assemble the gun and air it up, the valve pushes back slightly. Then after one shot, it will not reset unless you push the valve toward the body. Then it resets. Any thoughts? I have been thinking of just giving her my Automag valve and buying a new valve for myself. I'm still running CO2 so I can't go with an RT or the new x-Valve, but I've heard of something called a Hurricane valve or typhoon valve? If her mini valve is fixable, I'd rather go that route. Thanks in advance for any reply.

    Of course it works-its AGD

It sounds like tolerance issues somewhere. What type of aftermarket parts are on the mag?

You may be experiencing bolt stick. Try putting a longer power tube spacer in.

Don't bother with the hurricane or typhoon valves. They are just back sections to "improve air flow". They don't make any differences and in most cases cause additional performance problems.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

In reference to the power tube spacer, do you add two orings? One before the spacer and one after? I noticed it on one valve breakdown, but not on another. My automag valve only uses one.
      My mag is cap-spacer/spring-oring
      My mini is cap-oring-spacer-oring

Oh and, as far as I know there are no aftermarket parts. The previous owner did drill extra holes in the reg valve, but I wasn't having any problems there. See my previous posts for a picture.

The proper orientation of parts would be:

          cap-spring(or spacer)-Oring.

If the minimag has an extra o-ring in there, that would definately cause the problems you are experiencing.

I'm going to try swapping my spring with her spacer and see if that makes a difference. I don't have a longer spacer to replace it with. The o-ring question came from this diagram on the airgun website of an exploded Classic mag. Her mini and my mag should have the same parts, essentially, correct?

Let me try that swap, and I will get back on here in a bit. Once again, I appreciate the help.

The automag valve and the minimag valve are the same valve.

What about body rail bushings? could a missing rail bushing be causing this problem? That would prevent the whole valve assembly from being held in there right.

Of course, definitly remove that second o-ring from the power tube, also. You should have one at the base of the threads on the power tube tip, and one below the spacer.

Body rail bushings? I'm not familiar with them. I'm working on the gun now, trying to get it up and running for this coming Saturday. Where are you located in Mobile? I'm down the road in Pensacola.

AHHH!!! Sounds like a rail bushing to me!

Don't worry, I am the KING of RAIL BUSHINGS!

                    Heh

In the grip frame, sitting between the grip and rail should be a metal tube where the field strip screw goes. Its a little under a cm long. Its just a plain metal tube that the field strip screw goes through.

If its not there, big problems can result Its not on the parts diagram, and if you aren't 100% familiar with mags, you won't even know its missing.

hehe. I knew this sounded like a job for the rail bushing king. here's the link them in the airgun store. http://store.airgun.com/acb/showdetl...ID=248&CATID=6

Check and see if you have one, and get one in there if you dont.

I am located in west mobile over on schillenger road. Any time that you are over my way I would be glad to take a look at the marker and help you out in any way that I can- - Just not this weekend, we'll be in new orleans for the MGO.
