RT Pro and Z-grip not fitting properly?

I have a RT Pro and I recently aquired a Z-grip in a trade. When I put the Z-grip on my RT it leaves a gap in between the part of the frame, it's also very hard to put the grip on and keeping it level.

Can anyone help me out I enjoy using the Z-grip alot and don't want to give it up?

One thing I noticed with the grip that I never noticeed before is at the top of the frame it's grooved to fit a standard mag rail and not a RT body rail.

This is what it looks like at the top of the trigger frame
    \___/

and the bottom of my RT body rail looks like this____

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm worried that the sear will not engage the bolt and on/off properly with the frame not flush with the bottom of the body rail.

Would it chew up the bolt if I used it this way?

Will I be able to use the Z-grip like this if not is there someone who will mill the top of the frame for me so that it will sit flush on the rail?

Also I want to make sure that the screws that I'm using will be long enough to hold the frame in with no problem or should I use a longer front and a longer field strip screw if there is such a thing.

easily solved, you have a z-grip for a classic mag, not for a RT, a dremel solves that problem, you have to sand down the top of the grip ot make it fit. I would trade you my grip, but I just got it annod, if you dont wanna fubar your z, trade someone for a RT z that wants a regular mag z. just my $.02. on last note, there is no adapter for it, thats to make the hole in the grips bigger so banjo bolt RT ones can fit on any mag. like mine, but you dont have to waorry about that. hope this helps,

heh..he has an RT pro, which means he has the ReTro valve. RT z grips were made for the classic, with the banjo bolt. the RT pro uses the same frame as a classic...

I have a RT PRO which means that the body rail is flat on the bottom where as the Z-grip I traded for is meant for standard body rails. RT PRO do use the the same frames as standard a classic that's about the only thing you said that was correct. I know the difference between a old school RT and a RT PRO.

You see I bought a z-grip that is for Standard rails ONLY. where as what I should of done is bought a RT z-grip and got a spacer from AGD.

It would be a very simple task for a machine shop to mill it down to fit your RT-Pro. Even after modified, it will still work perfectly on an classic mag rail.

            You have:

            |\______/|

            You want:

            _________

Just have them level it to the existing flat surface. No fancy work required.

No, not odd at all. The RT, RTP and EMag all have the flat mating surface for grip frames. Some 45 frames (DYE, some Z-Grips apparently) have a lip on each side that will only work on AM/MM rails.

New grip frames should be flat on the top so they can work on AM/MM and RTP frames. With a larger hole for the Banjo bolt they can also work on RTs.

Grip frames with the lips on each side can be modified to fit, just mill them to the top surface is flat. They will still work just fine on AM/MM rails.
