    New reg piston venting

I just installed my Level 10 and when i turned up the velocity the reg started to vent! This is the fiorst time I have even gassed up the gun with my new reg piston. Also my bolt comes back without any shims in. I am a confused man. This is on a Classic mag with an RT vavle and running at 800-900 psi.

    Thanks in advance.

What velocity are you shooting when the piston starts to vent?

This was at my house, so im not sure, but it was just up enough to shoot. Also it continued to leak when i turned the velocity down, if that matters.
Is it possible that i just got a faulty reg piston?

            Thanks for all the help.

u really need to know what velocity u are shooting at
              u might be too high.
it wouldnt hurt to check the reg piston orings also make sure there are no nicks or cuts in it.

I had the exact same problem.

Bought Emag used, with LVL10 installed on shortest spring. Tried to get it to work w/med spring, but always a small leak out of the back at 280ish fps. Consulted AO, and ordered new reg piston. Installed new reg piston and med spring. Vented out the back like crazy. Contacted AGD. Said they may have shipped me out an older (lower pressure) piston. They shipped me new piston. Now gun runs very nice on longest spring.

Email/call AGD and let em know.

shims have nothing to do with it venting out the back. You may have gotten a lower pressure piston like was said up to somwheres. When i installed my LX it would vent on the smallest spring like oyu i ordered a newer high pressuer piston and it works great now on the longest spring, with no shims, its nice and soft ~

They emailed me back saying it there isnt such a thing as a low pressure assy. and that i needa buy a new one. But the one i got is brand new. IS there anything esle that could cause this probelm?

They may have thought you wanted to convert your marker to low pressure, and in that cse, they are correct that there isn't a low pressure assembly.

The deal is this: AGD makes 2 reg pistons. The older one that came in Classics and Minis before HPA was popular vented at a lower pressure threshold, since the input pressure from a CO2 tank is less than with HPA. Then they released a newer design that vents at a higher pressure for use with HPA. You need to make sure you have the higher pressure HPA piston.
