    Charging emag battery

If im charging my emag battery for the first time how long should i charge it? and more importantly since i have the car adapter will it drain my car battery till its dead ( by this i mean do i have to drive around while its charging) or is it a small enough drain that i can just charge it in the car in my garage.

    Thanks

    Chris

The charger will deliver most of the charge in the first hour and then trickle charge for about 4 hours more.

No, It will not drain the battery. The total draw is less than 1Amp-hour. A car battery has hundreds of Amp-hours capacity.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Also, don't forget that the cigarette lighter will only be activated when the key is turned. Be sure the key is turned to the "accessory" position, if the car's not running.

Not all vehicles are this way with their lighter sockets. Check to be sure.

Can anyone tell me why after the light turns green on the charger if the plug gets unplugged then plugged in again the charger really pumps a lot of current? I noticed that the battery gets really hot if this happens so I assuming a lot of current.

              Thanks,
              R

The emag charger is a "smart charger".

Nickle based batteries respond best to a quick charge. Ideally a charger, when matched to the battery being charged, will provide most of that charge in the first hour. Then it will reduce the charge current to top the battery up in the next 3 - 4 hours.

A smart charger monitors the voltage of the battery being charged. Once a battery is fully charged the voltage will start to drop off slightly. The charger will catch this and end the charge cycle. If the battery is fully charged, any attempt to overcharge it will result in heat build-up in the battery until the charger terminates the charge cycle.

When you restart the charge cycle, the charger puts full charge current into the battery until it determines that the battery is full.
