    Halo B 2 9V mod, help... please

I didn't find anything under a search, so maybe this can be the answers.. =]

I have a Halo B.. and yeah, like some, I don't like the weight and hassle of putting 6 AA in the hopper...
right now, I'm running the halo b off a single 9V ... it gets me through a day of play... maybe two .. I don't know I just scrap the 9V after the day...

I am wanting to put 2 9V in my halo b.. and I have the 9V hook up things to do it with.....
what I need to know is this...

how do I hook the two 9V to keep me at 9V ?

Is it drawing A? or Drawomg B? or another way?

and... if I hooked 3 9V.. would it make a difference?

you would want to use "B". drawing "A" would give you an 18V output with the same current as 1 9V battery.

if you put 3 9V batteries in parallel (drawing "B") then you will have 3 times the current as 1 battery. so if it lasting 1 or 2 days with one, it will last 3-6 days with 3.

Would that give it any advantages?

it would give the advantage of not having to hassle with the curcuit board you just fried.

exactly.......running twice the operating voltage into a circuit would not do good things.

Thanks for the responses. So I'm guessing the Warpfeed was design to handle that voltage then?

the warp feed will actually handle up to 12 V. but not 18. You have to use a 12 battery, or wire two 9 volts to 18V and then use a 12V regulator.

it will (and mine has) handles 18 volts, and the relay is in fact rated for 24 or 18, i forget which. the board will just break down faster. it has been found that running 12V to the main curcuit and 18 to the relay works great.

                      parallel 9v

I want to do this also moose :-)

The halo uses 6 AA's to get 9V and more current.

The single 9V batteries drain too fast in the halo, but I have been wanting to try the multiple (I'm thinking 3) 9v's.

That would give you about 7 - 9 amps though, so I don't know.

how do you figure??? 7-9 AMPS! out of 3 9 volts?!?!? a nine volt battery is rated for 110mA of current......3 would give you 330 mA......thats mili.......for .33 amps.

i did a double take as well. you wont get 9 amps out of a 9V.

There would be lots more dead people if 9v's pumped out that much juice.

The 9v's in parallel will work, but you still won't have the same battery life time with off-the-shelf 9v's.
