    Having a problem with shootdown

With the mag classic I just got I am having a major problem with shootdown. As I fire rapidly the velocity just gets lower and lower until it won't cycle. If I wait just a bit between trigger pulls it works just fine.It acts as if there is some obstruction to the airway , but its all clear.I can't find any trash in the way anywhere. Is this normal with a stock mag?

Are you using CO2? We realy need more specifics on this and no its not realy normal...or at least it can be corrected if we can tell you what is wrong with your set up. You need to describe everything real good...but...in Technical Forum. So I am moving it there.

I have used both my crossfire HPA , a friends air america , and CO2 on a remote. It does it with all of them. The only time it doesn't do it is if I turn the velocity up to about 340 FPS.Then its constant as the sun rising.Anything below that and it jumps around like mad and suffers the shootdown.

Also I am noticing that a very small turn on the velocity adjuster on the reg is making avery large adjustment in the velocity.

Most likely you need a new Reg seat. Try cleaning the thing first and make sure it's not in backwards. It will snap into place if its in right. And if that fails to fix it then replace it. There should be a couple in a Automag parts kit. This is all assuming your air supply is good and that the tank is recharging correctly. Test them on another marker firts.

how to get less shoot down

I had the same problem with my mag. I got an 8-hole mod for the back of my mag. I absolutely loved it. I was able to fire rapidly with a lot less shoot down. It wont get rid of shoot down completely because the classic valve does not recharge fast enough. I have an 8 hole mod that I used for about a year if you want it. It works great. I will sell it because I went with the x-valve program and I dont need it anymore. I will sell it real cheap. If you really want to get rid of shoot down then save some money and go with the x-valve program. But if you are looking for a $15(shipped) fix then buy my 8 hole mod.
