    What's the answer?

Ok, I'll come straight out with it. I've just bought my first Automag and so have officially become a member of the Automag clan. I have a age old newbie question to ask, so just try and bear with me.

I've heard that Automags are more reliable and accurate than any other gun. Can someone put me out of my misery and explain why and if this is true?

Accuracy is a biproduct of your barrel/paint match mainly.

As for reliable, they're one of the most reliable valve/marker setups on the market. You can normally fix any problem with parts from a part kit (which is 99% an oring being worn) .... and as long as you take care of your marker you shouldn't have ANY problems.

I had my classic mag for 7yrs and other than standard wear and tear parts (orings, etc) I never had a single problem!

    Sincerely,
    Dave K

same as what he said...all need to replace is o-rings once and a while, and oil. thats it, and as for being reliable, its supposed tobe able to berun over with a car and still be able to shoot...hows that for reliability

Thanks for the advice guys. More newbie madness - what sort of upgrades should I be looking to pick up? and is there anything I can do to tweak my mag that'll make it fire more sweetly?

          yes

i think you can get a board from somewhere that allows you to press a switch and it will shoot like 400fps until you press it again. good upgrade for newbies wanting to go out against pros and kick their butts

Mags are also very consistent markers; this is a by product of having a built in regulator.

As far as upgrades go, there are a few things. Intelliframe trigger frame, Xvalve/Level 10 and compressed air source come to mind immediately.

One of the great things about Mags is the fact that there aren't too many upgrades out there. I have an Emag, and after an adjustable tank, a barrel and level 10 I'm pretty much done buying stuff for it. I can concentrate more on buying paint...

              As for upgrades-

              Intelliframe Trigger Frame
              X-valve (ReTro Valve & Level 10)
              Agitated Hopper (Halo or Revvy)
Warp Feed (try one before you buy one)
              Nitro/HPA system

400fps - LOL. Is school out kiddie?

X-Board revvies rule, but the most important thing is how it looks dude - never forget that.

Maybe get a red dot sight tho' - they're bada$$.

                    Re: no

                    1) The mag can't be adjusted to shoot that high (400fps) without the reg piston venting the pressure out the back.
                    2) Automags are mechanical guns. No place for a board. (with the exception of the Emag/SFL/Xmag)
                    3) A board can't increase your velocity.
                    4) If you happened to confuse BALLS/Second and FEET/Second let me school you.

                    Feet/Second is velocity
                    Balls/Second is ROF.

Therefore your 400 # is pure crap.

wow....thats some nice arguing...and yes if you wanna do the math/physics v=d/t, 400 fet a second and the thickness of a shell that thin would rip apart in mid air, if it didnt break from the friction of the barrell....wow im a dork if im doing physics in my free time...
