    CO2 in a Mag

Hey everyone, I just got a minimag and I've been hearing a lot of stuff about how CO2 is bad for mags.

Right now I dont have the money to buy a nitro system. I have a pretty good expansion chamber as well.

Now my question is what exactly are the effects of C02 a mag? Short and long term.
Hopefully I will get nitro soon, but I just want to know what could go wrong if I played with C02.

And also, if I need a larger spacer, is that covered under warantee? or do i need to buy the spacer kit?

Some people just use Co2 on there mags. An anti-siphon tank is always a good idea but not always available. I would say keep it slow so you don't freeze the valve up. That's the negative part of using Co2 along w/ the possible velocity fluctuations. Spacer kits aren't covered under the warranty. You may be able to pick up a set fairly cheap here since people converting over to level ten will no longer need them. Oh and Welcome to AO, enjoy the ride!

Ok, thanks. My bolt doesn't recock sometimes so I assume I need a larger spacer.
I'm saving up and will hopefully have a HPA system soon

I ran my MAG on Co2 for 7 years, and never had iny problems. As for your bolt stick look at your Bolt spring, it should be atleast 1/4 inch past the tip of the bolt, if its not the bolt wont reset every time. Good Luck.

ok new question, basically what happens now is i shoot a couple of shots, then the bolt doesnt recock and it begins to leak down the barrel.

Does this have to do with the spacer still? Or could it be a different problem?

yup... it will either be the powertube oring that is bad or you just need a different spacer.......

though first i would run a little oil through everything 1st and see if that clears up the problem...... just remeber these to things.... always try a couple of drops of oil first before fixing anything else..... 2. always take your barrel off before shooting the oil through... that is unless you like to clean oil from the inside of your barrel

ok, thanks everyone for the help.

I just replaced my power tube o-ring, so that's not it, but i'll oil everything and see how it works.

              Thanks again.
