    trigger Job for mag

i was wondering if a trigger job for my mag would do any damage. the owner of the field i go to offered to do it for ten bucks, but my friend says it'll wear out the internals faster. if so, tell me

there is no such thing as a trigger job for a mag. anyone that tells you different is wrong. messing with the on/off length or the trigger rod length will only make the gun malfuction. even if it does shoot right, it will wear the bolt and the sear much faster. I have heard of people wearing out a bolt in one day from a trigger job.

The only thing close to a trigger job on a Mag is selecting the proper powertube spacer, as you can get a realy nice crisp trigger with the right spacer. Do NOT let inyone do a $10 trigger job on your mag, they will adjust the trigger rod causing all kinds of problems, this is one reason Mags got a bad rap as paint blenders, lots of know nothing shops and cheap trigger job.

How do you wear out a stainless steel bolt in one day? You would have to leave burs on the sear to do that and even then that is a stretch of the imagination. With the level ten you can now do a trigger job on the mag to a greater extent than ever before. Even with the lvl 7 a 'trigger job' is possible. Just playing with the push-rod length could be considered a trigger job, filing down the sear is an option to, but much tricker since you generally have to do it with a set of calipers and a high quality file. All that changes is where in the stroke the bolt is released and so doesn't effect stroke lenght unfortunately. You could change the pivot point of the sear, but that would be above most peoples heads.

Never file the sear! It has a protective wear coating. Only mess with the on/off and trigger rod if you know what you are doing. As for spacers in the power tube, yes the will adjust the fire point, as will the LX shims.

where can i get these shims, because i love the single finger trigger and i want a shorter pull so i can get off better ROF without having to cut off a limb to buy an X-valve or Retro valve

nope, don't have enough money for it yet sniff sniff, it makes me cry would a KaPP 45 single finger frame do anythin for me, i like the single finger frame but i don't think i'd be able to go back to a double finger frame or beable to fire correctly with a 2x on my mag

well the shims are only for the LX bolt...........

just practice with the trigger. I had the gun for about a week and I am able to shoot 8-10 BPS pretty easy. I played all day last weekend for my first time and I only had 2 chops from short strokes.

well give it some time, you will get better at the trigger. and then you can get some upgrades, like the intelli and the LX.
