    micromag questions

I have a PTP MicroMag...not the EMAG!!!!!! Installed Intelliframe with no problems...14inch JJ ceramic barrel. Replaced all the internals with AGD Parts kit. Still I see other markers outshooting my mag!! Whats up!!!!! Marker not leaking....Good barrel paint match...so whats the problem...these guys and their cockers and Shockers and whatnot seem to be able to out perform my Micro every time...What am I doing wrong here guys...need help! Sad thing, my Trusty old Nova 700 will outperform my Micro in every aspect.....Im using compressed air...screw in type...not regulated. have had this Micro for 2 years now and doesnt seem to live up to the reputation you all give Mags...Please dont flame me...I'm just asking because I expected much more...I love this thing, but its not what I was hoping for.... Thanks in advance. and before you ask...yes chrono at around 275 + or - a few fps. Those OTHER markers...I watched as they chrono'd...why do they seem to always outperform my Micro?

The illusion is based on aiming differences between stacked tube designs and mags. When you fire a taller gun, the base of the barrel is slightly lower than the base of the barrel on the mag due to the mags low profile. For aiming purposes, people like to use their barrels, and the natural thing is for the barrel tip to be slightly elevated more so than the mag to bring it up to equivalent sighting level. When firing, the guns will be shooting at the same speed and aimed at the same target but the effect is that the trajectory of the taller gun is elevated slightly giving it the illusion of greater range.

If you bench mount the barrels, you will see that the trajectory of both guns is the same when fired at the same velocity.

If the problem is rate of fire, then you need more practice on the trigger.

Try another barrel. I had a J&J ceramic barrel on my mag with perfectly matched paint and it wouldn't hit the same spot twice. Just a bad barrel I guess.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

      hey Athomas!!

Thanks soooo much for the very honest and non judgemental reply! dont get that often, people too much in a hurry to talk so much about that paint/barrel match topic. I know it all too well. It was an observation I had made and seen time and time again with other markers compared to my MicroMag. Never looked at it that way before. I appreciate the very informative response.
