    teflon tape question

ok.. im having some trouble with tefloning my fittings/guages. I wrap the teflon around the fitting..really tight.. then when i screw the fitting in the teflon seems to scrunch up on the thread where i stop screwing in.. should this be happening?

No, it shouldn't be doing that...it's not sealing properly. Take a small piece of tape to cover the threads twice, and wrap it around counter-clockwise so the tape doesn't scrunch up like you're describing. Just make sure the tape is securely on the threads, and isn't loose.

i think you were probably putting the tape on clock wise and it was taking the tape of or somethings
