    Powerfeed Tube Adjustment

Has anyone reduced the length of their powerfeed tube? If so, is the adjustment noticeable? Does the powerfeed still have the same effect?
I've been thinking about shortening the tube, just to bring my hopper in and down a smidge, but I don't want to do anything irreversible or damaging to the operation of my Minimag.

I did it on one of my Minimags and it works fine. I left just enough feed tube for the elbow to fully clamp down on.

Well, I was successful at cutting down my powerfeed tube! Now my hopper sits a little lower and a little more centered. Will it make much of a difference? I don't know. But I think it looks better!

FWIW, I removed .700" (about the size of one paintball) from the powerfeed necks of both my E & Classic Mags...they both still function perfectly. lower & more centered, oh yea!

Well, I was going to use my Dremel, but then I got to thinking about how I might not be able to cut it straight...so I just used a pipe cutter. It was easy, but it took about 3 hours (I think if I'd used a bigger pipe cutter, it would have taken less time) I used a copper pipe cutter, so it was kind of small, but it worked really well. After I cut the tube, I used my dremel to de-bur the metal and make it smooth again. It turned out nice.
Just make sure that your measurements are exact and that you leave enough room for the screws on the elbow (if there are any) and junk like that.

Now I'm ready for the powdercoating! Yay!
