    it all depends, some metals will be more shiny than others so you might need to buy different polishing stuff. also it might be that if you didn't use finer grits that your metal might have a rougher look. I finish mine off at 1500, but most people say 3000. I just use what's available from my dad. i really like how this gun turned out, but i think i did get a bit lazy, because there's some black spots when you angel the metal because i didn't sand those areas as well as others
