    New Leak

Ok, i bought a used automag classic from a pb store. It had so many problems with it. The regulator seat was missing, about 3 orings were missing, and my on/off pin was out of proportion. It was leaking everywhere. Now i replaced everything that's wrong with it. It sounds alot better but it's still leaking and I can't tell where it's coming from. When i pull the trigger and hold it the leaking stops. I think this might be a powertube spacer. What do you guys think? If so how do i get to the powertube spacer before i start messing with it?

Remove the valve from the mainbody, then removed the bolt from the valve.

Use a coin to unscrew the Powertube tip. There should be a powertube spacer and then the powertube oring inside. Check to see that the oring looks in good condition.

Everything looks good there. What other parts can cause this?

Try using a dowel or squeegee to push the bolt back while the marker is gassed up, and respond with the results.

            push the bolt back?

What you mean push the bolt back. Someone told me if your leaking and you cant find where its leaking. when you hold the trigger back and stops leaking its the powertube spacer.
Actually several people told me that, but it looks ok.. Im just going to send it to agd ugh

before you ship it off to AGD, try using a slightly smaller powertube spacer.
If that dosent work, i would go ahead and replace the PT o-ring, regardless of what it looks like. Continue using smaller and smaller PT spacers until the leak goes away.

Most likely it's the pt Spacer causing the problem. If the spacer is too long, you will have a a leak--- just like you're describing. If the spacer is too short, you will have problems with the bolt sticking (not re-seting all the way) after you fire the marker.

What he meant by 'push the bolt back' was to insert a dowel rod into the breech area and physically push against the face of the bolt. This would be a good check- - if the leak stoped with a little bit of extra pressure on the bolt it would indicate that the PT spacer is indeed just a little bit too long. It's not necessary to do this though.

Additionally, when I am rebuilding an older gun that has been abused, i always run an entire parts kit through it right off the bat- - out with every old seal, and in with all new ones. it's just a suggestion, but ive found that this will decrease the time spent chasing small leaks around the gun.
Finally, call AGD and get a copy of the 'mag video. After watching it a couple times, there's very little that can go wrong with the marker that you can't fix.

              Hope this helps you out,

              Carl
