    emag charger ??

I suspect my charger is bad as it got very hot when charging a brand new battery and the battery ended up with no charge. Can I test output when plugged in and no battery is attached. I get no reading whatsoever??

Yes, you should be able to measure a voltage when not attached to a battery. I haven't measured mine with an open circuit, but I suspect it should be about 20 volts.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

There's a good possibility that a bad charger is the case. I had the exact same problem with my emag charger. I wound up sending the gun into AGD for a vareity of things, and they determined for sure that the battery charger was indeed messed up. Same symptoms that you are describing.
