Minimag fires when gassed up

I have two problems not sure if they are related. I rec'd my level 10 and x-valve last month and it was working fine no problems whatsoever. Yesterday I replaced my trigger frame with an intelliframe and removed the expansion chamber and replaced it with a gass thru grip. When I gas up my minimag, it imediately fires (and no, my finger is not on th trigger). After that, it does not fire at all. I get pressure behind the trigger but when I pull it, it doesn't fire. It will happen all the time. Gas it up, it fires, then no fire. I am using a 68/4500 pure e tank with a preset output pressure of 850 psi.

Could all this happen from just replacing those two parts? Where do you think the problem is, in the Level 10, or with the trigger frame?

Try upping the velocity and see if the gun fires.

Well I cranked it up two full turns last night. Maybe I should go further? I didn't turn it up more than that since it was working on my stock grip frame just fine. I'll try again tonight. Thanks.

I thought you were supposed to hold the trigger in when gassing up.

Ok cranked it up all the way until it wouldn't turn anymore and still it doesn't fire (with the exception of it firing when I first gas it up). Any other suggestions?

Sounds like it might be time to readjust your level 10 setup. What carriers/shims/spring are you running?

Also, did you change the on/off pin when you put the Xvalve in?

I could have swore that is what Tom says on the video. I'll have to look again.

I've never done it.

My guess is that they want less wear and tear on the seals and what not. So by holding the trigger in, you're simulating a shot (at least to the valve).

The other thing is that a good jolt of air is needed to cock the system. Sometimes a screw in doesn't release enough once gassed up to jolt the system.

Thanks for the advice dayspring, but i found the source of both my problems. I started to take apart my minimag to check out my Level 10 setup and happened to notice that the pin holding the sear was not seated all the way. When you look at the two notches just above the grip on both sides of the rail, you can see the pin on one side but barely on the other. So using a hammer and wooden dowel I tapped the pin down until I could see them both equally.

I figured it was worth a try, so I put it all together and gassed it up and to my surprise, it worked perfectly. My guess is that the sear was just high enough to cause it to fire when I first gas it up and being too high maybe the sear wouldn't engage? I dunno, but it seems to be working fine once again. Woohoo! happy camper!
