How to make it shine again????

I have a polished main body, over time the shine has gone away. Now it looks almost like the main body has some sort of tarnish under the crome. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to shine again. Even put it on a buffing wheel with a 10000 (ten thousand) grit compound like you use to polish a mirror and it didnt help. I really dont wantto drop 150 bucks on a new one, any ideas before I decide to go for the powder coat?

Tunaman said something about Never-Dull. Try that. I don't QUITE know what it is, but he said it'll make it nice and shinney.

Use something heavier to start, maybe a 1000 grit wet paper and then move to 1500 or 3000. Then finish with a crome polish. It should shine like a bottle.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

NevrDull is the POOP! Give it a shot man, it works like nothing else! Just ask flatacid, or read his thread on "brass upkeep."

I'll admit that I like the "classic" look better than the high tech. THe body is old, I bought the gun used and the orginal valve # was lower than 30000. The X valve has been on about a week now and I love it. I just want it to shine. Im going to post a before pic. This is what the gun looked like when I got it. Very ugly andit had alot of issues

                  Doi!

I had that problem, and what I did was sand with 400 grit, worked in 200 grit increments to 800, then use all the buffing compounds I had, Starting from the first stage stipping compound going to the final stage high polish compound. Now its back to a mirror finish!

Make sure that each time you sand it, you hit the entire body evenly, so that you have it all down to whatever grit you are on. Then just buff it like there no tomorrow.
