not sure if this is a level 10 problem or not?

Alright I have done my best reading through The Official Level 10 problems thread and I posted in there but its 17 pages now so I dont know what kind of traffic it sees by now. Please dont flame me for creating a new thread for my question.

Ok here's the setup. I got a brand new minimag and installed a bottom line, aci x-chamber (cuz i have to run co2), and the level 10 last night. With the 1.5 carrier and 2 shims I have absolutely no leaks. Right now i have the stock spring in because i dont have chrono available so I havn't done any extensive tuning with the springs yet but it's not giving me any trouble shooting. I went out and shot 30 balls or so, and none broke (of course) but I did have 2 just sort of roll out of the barrel and go maybe 10 feet or so... is that even a level 10 problem?

also, i have a lapco stainless bigshot and i'm shooting medium bore paint, so the paint matches the barrel.

typically, level x need higher pressure to run same velocity. turn up the velocity.

yea I realize that.. not all of the balls were falling short. besides the two, the rest of them were shooting exactly like they should be shooting.

          Check your barrel nubbins.

Doesn't sound like a level 10 problem at all really. Although, I recommend using the mid spring. Just softer, that's all.

Yea today after work I'm gonna work on the spring part of the level 10. I put a nubbin on the barrel and I also put on two o-rings. there was only one slot in the Big Shot for a nubbin. I'll see if I need to adjust the nubbin a little bit.

            Update

Ok it seems the reason why it wasnt shooting right was that I was too close to not having enough velovity for the bolt to move. Anyway... Right now I have the shortest spring in, because when I put the medium or the long spring in, it seems like I have to crank up the velocity too much and the paintballs dont shoot as straight. It doesnt vent out the back or leak anywhere, the shots just arent consistent. Is that because of the paint? I'm using a Lapco Bigshot with medium bore paint so it should be a pretty good match. From what I've read the medium spring should be the best for me becuase I dont play indoor so I want to be around 270 - 300 fps but when I put the medium spring in and turn up the velocity just enough that it shoots, the paint doesnt shoot very straight as if the velocity was craked too high. It shoots straighter with the shortest spring and even when I tried the stock spring.

You now need a chrono. You want to have at least 20fps between where it just starts to shoot and the velocity you want to shoot at. Pick the longest spring that has at least a 20fps difference.

Alright I'll see if I can track down a chrono this weekend.
