My RT became a $400 blender

Yesterday was my first day shooting my new RT. I have a Dye Stainless Steel barrel. And I was shooting some Blaze balls. And I kept double feeding them. I chopped four times. I would like to know if anybody knows what are some good paintballs to shoot. The guy there said to try different balls or a different color. Does Anybody know what balls are good.

    Thanks :)

hmmm, if you are double feeding, you might want to check your nubbins...double feeding can cause some nasty chops, and especially if you are using a halo. I'd check out your nubbins first, and see if that helps, because as long as the bore of the barrel is generally around the same size as the paint, you shouldn't have any double feeding issues. Are you using a halo with your RT?

Some paint I've had good experiences with has been PMI and Big Ball...my mags luuuuv big ball

Hey, the guy there messed with the nubbins a little and it was best the way it was. And I'm not using a halo on my RT.

I was thinking of a Level 10, but does that stop double feed?

no, the level 10 does not stop double feeds...I have an Emag with Level 10, and my Halo was able to force feed and double feed balls...

call me a perfectionist, but I believe a mag should work fine without level 10, but just have it as added protection in case the weather is really cold, or the paint is brittle, etc. I used my warped z-gripped retro mag...it does not have level 10...

I chopped 2 balls the other day with it...the only reason I chopped was because I outshot the revvy sitting on the warp, running a string of around 12 bps for a good 6 seconds. Soon I will be getting a Halo for it=)

There are a few things that definitely cause chops...short stroking, messed up p/f plug, bolt issues (with it sticking out too far), a hopper that doesn't feed fast enough, and double feeding, and bad paint.

It sounds like you had a bad combination of bad paint, slower hopper, and either a bad nubbin or short stroking causing the double feelding. Solution?

            Faster hopper
            experiment w/ paint...see what your mag/barrel likes
            check your nubbins
            check you p/f plug
check to make sure you are not short stroking

Seeing as you only have 3 posts at the moment, I'm assuming that you're relativly new to mags and/or RT's.

Short-Stroking could definatly be an issue and can cause your double-feeding and chopping.

If you don't know what short-stroking is, it's when you don't pull or release the trigger completly before it's pulled again and it screws up the cycle of the gun and you get doublefeeding, chopping, the works.
