    Help on building a mag

Im taking on a project of building a Minimag from scratch. i compiled a list of every part that I knew I was going to need. I thought I might throw it by the genious' here at the automag owners forum. I was hoping you guys could offer insight, places to aquire these things, and tell me if i'm missing anything or perhaps simply stop me if this is going to be a mistake. But heres my list of parts i know i need.

    1. Minimag body
    2. LVL 10 Bolt
    3. X-Valve
    4. 4 stage black gas through foregrip
    5. inteliframe
    6. gold colored stickies
    7. 12v revolution
    8. braided hoses nessecary for air(gold colored tips)
    9. basic drop forward
    10. RAMROD barrel(I could really use some help finding one of these)
    11. reverse setting up on the tank.

Im assuming im forgeting a great deal of the important parts that actually go in the body. Obviously im gonna need any nuts/bots hardware to put this together.

My final question is would I jsut better off buying a minimag(black) used then replacing the bolt and valve?

Im just trying to build a top o the line mini from scratch black and gold.... oh well... any help shall be well received..

The Xvalve comes with the LX bolt. Should come with a sear as well. But otherwise:

    1. body rail w/ rail bushing and twist lock
    2. slide check or a pro connect
    3. hopper elbow
    4. loaders and a loader harness
    5. paintball mask
    6. ss 90 degree or 45 degree elbows
    7. quick disconnect
    8. barrel condom/ plug
    9. front frame screw
    10.field strip screw
11.vert asa w/ screw or screw for your foregrip
12.hex/ allen keys for assembly/ disassembly
    13.small screw drivers
14.extra orings/ repair kit for maintenance
    15.paintball gun oil
    16.dow 33 grease
    17.locktite or teflon tape

    Oh, the joy of paintball.

      btw...

Xvalve's only run off HPA's and NOT CO2. So a 4 stage expansion gas-thru is useless. Just get a gas-thru with an adjustable tank or a preset at 800-850psi. If your tank is a screw in you will need potentially an on/ off or an ASA. For your grip you probably will need a vert asa adapter too.

Good luck. Put together 2 mags from scratch myself. Only way to get the look you want. Cheaper to buy a setup and live with it, though.

ebay usually has a good assortment of stuff. check the sellers feedback though. i have yet to have any problems except for people not paying me from time to time.

get a revvy w/ x board and a parabolic powerfeed plug too. those will both help feed faster.

i bought my mag on ebay and it's not the same gun it was when i got it. i have bought many many mags that way, keep the good stuff and part with the rest of it. i'm right where i want to be now and after trading, buying and selling, my gun has cost me 0$. it takes some time and searching, but worth it in the long run. you also get a feel for whats out there and what works for you and what doesn't.

i'm lft 1964 on ebay. right at the moment i don't have much there, but that can change any given day depending on what the mail man brings me.

Use the "search" button to the top right portion of any page to find the items you are looking for in their respective forums (i.e. tech info/ misc. pb parts/ air/ markers.) Also you can buy direct from AGD at the tip top of the page with the ONLY blue tab stating "sponsor." But try in the sales forums first for cheaper used versions. As for gold annodizing rails, buy a used one and send it out to anno along with your barrel, trig frame, vert grip, etc... Search in the sales forums for people who provide those services. Good luck with your search for the perfect mag. As stated previously, buy a lot and part what you don't need for perfection.

Personally, I ended up with THREE complete mags by doing this, so be forewarned! Mags are addictive.

                Cost-wise:
                $1400 - all black RTPro w/ xvalve + 68/3k flatline.
                $750 - all-chrome LX RT mag w/ 47/3k flatline.
$500 - LX mag of left over parts + 68/3k flatline.
Total: priceless... helps me to keep my sanity with the tinkering.

The female in your life might not be as happy. Especially if she finds out about the franklins you drop. Ship parts to work and tinker when she is out shopping, haha.
