Over the weekend, we had a team practice and I was having a great time until we had to scrimmage. I was toting my Warped RTP and noticed a chop, which is rare, and considering it was at the breech, well, that had never happened before.
So, I cleaned it out and tried another game. This time, I not only chopped in the breech, but the paint blew up and outwards, away from the gun, spraying the bunker I was in. Anyway, it was Maxim so the fill was extremely bright.
At first I thought the problem was a dwell setting, since a teammate had changed a jumper setting for dwell, as he told me the factory setting was way too long. So, I thought that might be the problem.
After walking off and checking my setup I noticed that my warp wasn't working at all. I pulled the battery out and slapped a brand new one in (the other was new too). I have it hooked up to my intelliframe and have never had problems aside from a few weeks ago (will get to that later).
After putting in the new battery, I tapped the warp, and it seemed to be working. I then turned the gun over and held it like I would when playing. I pulled the trigger (gun was degased, condomed, etc.) and nothing happened. I tapped the warp, nothing.
I put the gun down and tried again, nothing. After pulling the battery out and putting the other in, it worked again, and then stopped. So, I was a bit stumped.
The only thing I can think of is a problem that came up a few weeks ago. After noticing that my warp was acting a bit flaky, I went to switch the battery and noticed that the negative power came out of the 9V boot. Shortly after the positive came off of the board. Let's just say that the problem then seemed obvious.
Anyway, I got our team tech to look at the warp, since he is AGD certified and whatnot, and he soldered new ends (from a new 9V connector) to the board and tried it out. He said it was working for him, but if the problem is intermittent, he might not have fiddled with it long enough.
Anyway, I am going to leave him my whole setup tomorrow for him to look at (personally, I think he thinks my switch isn't setup properly, he has no faith in me).
However, I would be interested on hearing if any of you have any ideas as to what it could be. Or, even better if any of you have heard of this problem before.
If I was a betting man, I would guess that a wire or something is still loose, but I have had it working and then stop without moving the gun, and without moving any wires. I have looked at his soldering job and everything looks nice and tight.
/me is confused.
Thanks
