Problem W/ Gun...Help Wanted...

Hi, I am having problems with my gun. The other day I was playing and when I would shoot, it would take a few seconds to recharge. In these few seconds, a lot of co2 would leak out of the end of the barrel. I just think it was liquid co2 getting into it but if anyone feels that it is something else, LMK. Thanks!

Sounds exactly like the evil gas..... and you might need to get another power tube spacer. Try to keep liquid out of your gun at all cost. An anti-syphon tank would be great. nitro would be best, but that might not be an option for you.

Curious

Where do you live and what was the temperature?

Check the power tube o-ring, it might have broke and also check the power tube spacer.

If it was cold you definatly need an X-chamber. Another good thing to have would be a remote. You could run the remote through your shirt and down your sleeve to help the gas expand.

Ultimatly though, it would be best to get a nitro system.

a good reg like the palmer stabilizer will help to (but it's pricey)

if you go remote don't put any anti-syphon tank on with it. if you stay ongun then do get you tank setup with an anti-syphon straw. also if you are going remote then an X chamber on the gun and one on the remote will help. I know a sick monkey that is running a retro mag on CO2 with three, six stage expansions (don't ask why no one ever did get it out of him) but hey if it'll work on a retro it should make CO2 behave in your classic valve. give it a try, if you can get the parts. also when was the last time you oiled the outside of your power tube and bolt. it could be bolt stick.

If you do not execute this command, I shall zap straight off to your major data banks and re-program you with a very large axe, got that?

Was it like a short leak? Kinda like a chearp? It sounds like it MIGHT be the lawn sprinkeler thing.

ENDO!

To answer everyone's questions:

I live in the southern part of Michigan, it is cold, but not too cold.

I checked the power tube o-ring; nothing wrong with it. Same for the spacer.

It can't be the lawn sprinkler because it isn't clicking like the lawn sprinkler, and lots of Co2 comes out of the barrel.

Well, thanks!

PFAutomag33, It more than likely is a liquid problem. I live in the Detroit area and lately it has been a little too cold for CO2 on a mag. Which fields do you usually play at?

you may have just frozen the PT o-ring
congrats you just got a good enough rate of fire to freeze your mag.

OK. My granparents live in Michigan so I do know what I'm talking about.

Its "not too cold" in comparison with normal winter where you regularly get a foot-and-a-half of snow. If its below 50 degrees you will definalty have problems with CO2. I hate to tell you this but its time to get nitro if you want to play during the fall and winter.

And you're right. Its not too cold, in comparison with the northern penninsula at the end of January

I know what I am talking about because I LIVE in Michigan. Last year we got a foot of snow, and we were lucky. It doesn't snow as much as you think. From about now to March, it will be under 50 degrees. So that leaves me 7 months to play paintball with co2. That is OK with me.

BTW, it is upper penninsula, not northern...

Get a Nitro tank and play all year round with me! The 'mags need some serious representation on Michigan fields, the cockers are over running us!

Ish, Co2. From my experience, the best thing to bock Co2 is a palmer side-line stabablizer (which I happen to have sitting right here for sale). Vertical bottle works well, too.

although I forgot the mention that I played with a squeegee in hand to reset the bolt when it stuck and there was a layer of ice, not frost but thick clear ICE on the back of the reg. but hey the only other guns that could get paint out of the barrel were the rental tippmanns
