I dont know if anyone has done this before, but I might give it a try when I get some motivation to stop watching tv. I was thinking of doing it electronically. I'd basically take the wires from the hall sensor, run it through a little 'magic box' and then to the PCB in the grip. It would also be convenient to do this because I could put some sort of switch on it to turn the autoresponce on and off. Obviously, it would only work in electric mode. I just think it would be neat. I could get pretty much all the supplies I'd need for free. Thats the advantage of being an electrical and computer systems engineering student at rpi (you just sacrifice women). I've been thinking of a bunch of different ways to actually implement it. I'm only a sophmore, so I don't know to much yet, but I think I could get it with some help from my professors. Anyone ever try this? Any tips?

I'd be interested to see how you get this to work. Keep us posted!
