    Powder Coating Minimag Body

Hi you guys. I was thinking about getting a black minimag body (not ule) but it costs 150$ . I was thinking if i could have a local tire rim shop powdercoat the main body matte black (just like the stock black color). Have any of you guys had any experience with this?? Chipping? scratching? thanks

I don't know about the quality of the trim shops work, but otherwise...

I have a ReTro mag that I had powdercoated by a guy on this board. RedRider. He did good work. The important thing to remember is to take off the area where the body meets the rail, otherwise it will screw your tolerances.

My PC job looks pretty sweet! I got a silver that shines so well...

My suggestion, look for a black MM body in the classifieds page.

I haven't had mine done yet, but I'm going to. I was told to strip down the stock finish in order for it to be done.
I can't justify spending $150 on a new body when you can get it powdercoated for around $20 or so.
