I've been seeing this on alot of markers latley, and since it's been awhile since I've been into paintball, I might have missed it sometime. is it some type of quick disconnect or what?

Its actually called a zip connect, yes it works just like a quick disconnect.

I think it's a slide check....not sureset up: Micro e-mag with 32 degree chrome flame drop, Level 10, 88/4500 crossfire, 12 in CP, 32 degree whisper and ARADUS 14in barrel, EVO II.

when you turn your air off with a flatline on a mag it still holds about 400psi in the valve. you cant get the microline off.

Similar to a slide check , in that it has the same function, only it doesn't have a slide. Disconnects by pressing a button.
