I have a regular Automag and I want to run a steel braided hose from the valve to the front bottle adapter, I hate using quick disconects so my question is: exactly what length of hose will I need to run from the front adapter to the valve without using a quick disconect but have enough hose to pull the valve out with the hose connected???

Did you try measuring it?
Sorry if that's so sarcastic but that's a really silly question to ask. If you're still left guessing, measure from the valve to the ASA and then add another 3 or so inches to it, depending on what you want it to look like. It's probably just easier to get some macroline and fittings.

IT would have to be pretty long. unless you didn't mind tearing your whole gun apart just to ghe the valve out.
