    PF thingy question

hey on the powerfeed of my mag
theres a little rubber band looking thing
what does it do? what if it comes off

im considering anoing my chrome body cus i want a black one... but no one will trade me

so my friend could ano it for me, but i think that plastic thing would melt off, but it looks useless to me

I do know the AO sig rules, I just want a free sig pic, that's all!

You cannot anno it since it is made out of steel..
set up: Micro e-mag with 32 degree chrome flame drop, Level 10, 88/4500 crossfire, 12 in CP, 32 degree whisper and ARADUS 14in barrel, EVO II.

First off, you cannot anno a 'mag. But you can Powder Coat it. Second, what rubberband thingy are you talking about? the only thing i can think of it the o-ring on the PF plug.

I've seen those and wondered the same. It's at the base of the powerfeed where it was welded? to the body. Maybe it was to cover rough welding? Free up for you, surely someone knows!

I took the question to the chat room and kaiser_bob said that it was for air dampening, to make it a bit quieter, and to protect the joint. There's a pic on Dansims minimag on http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...&pagenumber=29 Ok now I will sleep better!

It's nothing more than a black rubber ASA o-ring, and it serves little to no purpose.

Some people put them on to cover the holes where the PF is welded to the body. It should have no effect on sound or anything else. The only benefit I could imagine is keeping water out of the breech, but then there's that BIG hole in the PF.

Like Jonsie said, it's just an ASA O-ring...I happen to think it just makes the gun look better with it on. It can help to keep paint out of the breech, if the gun gets hit. It can also be removed quite easily. And no, you can't anno aluminum...
