I have been researching barrels for a while and cant seem to get my head set on what I need for my RT mag.My first thought was buy a freak set.Is it true that SP dosent count the part of a mag barrel that fits in the marker,so say if I wanted a 12" Freak I should order it with a 10" front. Also I have read that more porting will hurt my gas effencey.I read that Lapco barrels were good for mags, the bigshot and the autospirit but I was weary about the autospirit because pbgear has it sized as a .686 and I have a lvl10 bolt. I read that .687 was as small as I could go.Im still leaning tword a 10"(12") freak set because I shoot alot of different kinds of paint.Could some of you who have used a freak set in the 10 to 12 inch range comment on its performance for you on your mags.Sorry I know this has been run over and over but I have a very slow comp, searches are as slow as my trigger finger, plus I have read so much I dont know what to believe. Thanks
Barrel question..I know im sorry

Well, what I was getting at with the part that sticks in the mag is from another post I read on here, someone saying that thier 12" freak was accually longer than thier 14" j&j and yes it would matter because Im trying to have a total length or no longer than a 12 inch barrel because from what ive read that seems to be a good lenght barrel all around. The person that posted that said that SP didnt count the 2 inches inside the marker so a 12" would really be a 14".Comment

hi there, someone told me smart parts barrels are tapered, meaning the front part of the barrel is smaller then the rest, my all american has excessive porting causing my tank to go empty REAL fast, i suggest you go with the lapco i've heard great things about them, not sure what bore size it is though

The Freak is a step bore it has a control wich is the insert and then the tip, it is small in the back and then big in the front.Comment

If you're in the mood for further research, check out this thread--Paintball Spin Physics. After that thread, I'm pretty much sold on the Lapco barrels. Before I picked up an ULE body, I shot a BigShot barrel exclusively and had zero complaints.Comment

If I were you, I would get a 12" Freak System. I have heard nothing but good things about it and my cousin has had a great experience with one.Someone took away my cool sig. *cough*mod*cough*Comment

One last ?
I have read that the lvl 10 bolt tolerance will not allow a barrel smaller than .687.Is this true because if I buy a Lapco autospirit I will have to buy the stainless .687 instead of the alum. .686 bore. I kinda got a black sceam going so I want the alum.plus its cheaper hehe.Comment
