    painted mag?

i just bought a used automag, and this guy painted the mainbody and rail black, but it looks like crap. Does anyone know a safe for the gun way of removing this paint. I was going to take it all apart and use paint thinner.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanx

Paint thinner would work fine on the body since it is made out of steel and I don't think it would damage aluminum.
set up: Micro e-mag with 32 degree chrome flame drop, Level 10, 88/4500 crossfire, 12 in CP, 32 degree whisper and ARADUS 14in barrel, EVO II.

      You need paint stripper

You need a paint stripper, not paint thinner. Zip-Strip is a good one. You won't hurt the metal. Thinner will not touch paint that has dried.
