12v warp mod

is it normal for the 12v regulator to get so hot that it is not possible to hold when it is wired for the 12v warp mod? i put one together and everything seemed like it wors properly however when i went to touch the regulator it self it burned myself. i cant imagine having something that hot in the battery compartment. i would think it would start melting things.

does anyone know if this is normal?

That does not sound right. Did you check the output voltage? Is it 12 volts? It sounds like to much current running through the reg. I don't remember mine getting hot like that.
