first thing...i dunno what a detent looks like or where it is, but yes i can take pictures...

second...it's plastic, i think, and i just did what you said and it does stop the ball from rolling out.

i dunno why i double feed sometimes and watch balls roll out other times if the nubbin is working correctly..

You say your useing a lagrebore barrel with med-bore paint, this could cause the plastic nubbin to not stop the double feeding and balls rolling out. With a close paint -2- barrel match the nubbin will stick into the barrel enough to stop the ball from rolling out. Useing a paint smaller than the barrel may be leaveing enough room for the paint to roll past the nubbin. If you cant find a large bore paint then you can try useing the older metal style nubbins and bend them into the barrel more so they stop the balls or you can buy a med-bore barrel.

ya i was afraid of that..what's everyone else think? shouldn't the nubbin still stop med bore paint in a large bore paint? btw, why is plastic preferred?

It's possible for it not to be able to prevent medium bore balls from falling out of the barrel.

Plastic is preferred b/c sometimes wire nubbins can be detrimental and slice open balls as they leave the barrel.
