That pdf gives you a breakdown of the valve, and the power tube, it may be helpful to have a picture when you're taking it all apart.

      tools

a coin won't give you proper leverage if its on tight. use a big screwdriver. i didn't have one so i used pliers, marred it a little, but i'll never need it again. lvl 10 rocks!
...but there's an "I" in SNIPER.

ok im pissed. i got the whole thing in, trying different springs. they all require the gun to be cranked way up on velocity or it wont fire. it just kinda farts. i was thinking it was the carrier but i cant get it out of the power tube. help plz

im installing in a classic rt

to change carriers the proper tool really helps. i used a mechanics o-ring pick (every auto parts store has 'em). dental picks will work well too. small screwdrivers really won't do it as well. raising the velocity a full 3-turns isn't uncommon w/lvl 10

you may need a new AIR valve spring pack, then. also check the input pressure from your tank. it should be atleast 800psi

You may need to go to the next larger carrier. It sounds like you may be having bolt stick and using the next larger carrier usually fixes that. As for getting the carrier back out use the screw that goes thru the grip frame and rail and goes into the valve. I know it sounds weird and I used to use a pick myself but after reading the suggestions of several other senior AO'ers it works remarkably well. After you have the tip off and the shims removed start to screw the screw into the carrier that is down in the powertube. At first you will think you are going to mess it up but it fits great. Give it a few screws to get it in good and then you can just pull it right out. Make sure the screw is going straight down or it won't go into the carrier and you'll think I'm crazy! Finding the right carrier is what I find to be the hardest part. You need one w/ a little friction, to much and you will get bolt stick, not enough and it will leak. Here are 2 links w/ some great info, the last one is a little long but has a ton of good info http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...threadid=40904
                  http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...threadid=43538 Hope that helps!

You will never get it w/ a Q-tip! Trust me tho the long screw in the back of your mag will do it. It's scary to do the first time but once you get used to it it's a breeze!

ok i am pissed. got it working but it wont fire on the first trigger pull for some reason. also it refuses to fire on occasion. worst of all i was unscrewing my tank and it popped off the gun and my tank just started venting and wont stop(dont think its lx related but now i got no tank).
