    Building Minimag from Scratch

Alright this may be a little complicated but please bare with me. My intentions are to completely build a minimag from scratch in order to save money, instead of buying a complete minimag and then buying upgrades for it. What I need is help figuring out if I have ALL the parts necessary to assemble a working marker. The end result will be kind of like a 68 Automag Classic (no barrel, no bottom line) but a heck of alot better. So please if I'm missing any parts from the list tell me.

    -X-Valve
    -Minimag Mainbody
    -Intelliframe
    -AM/MM Rail Assembly
    -AM/MM Sear Pin
    -PF Plug (Short)
    -Front Frame Screw
    -Field Strip Screw
    -Plastic Nubbins (6-pc)

You'll also need the vertical adapter, and a fore grip.

I'd go with the stainless steel no-rise (If you want to keep twist-lock barrels) or the aluminum ULE lo-rise mainbody, but that's just me :)

Where can you get the ULE low-rise main body? can you order it online somewhere? And as for the AGD Intelliframe, does that work with only the RT valve or will it work with the 68 classic? I'm trying to do the same thing to save some cash. Thanks

          @ BajaBoy,

X-Valve comes with the sear, and the rail includes the bushing and the twist-lock assembly...

          @ TACO-MAH,

In the AGD online store, although they MAY be out of stock at the moment.

I'm going to do the same thing as soon as I get about $700. That's about what it will cost for me to get everything straight from AGD. I plan on getting a Black ULE Body, MM/AM Rail, Intelliframe, X-Valve, and all of the little necessary parts. After shipping it came to $709 exactly I believe.

Yeah those ULE bodies are really nice but I like the way the minimag bodies look. I plan to get a polished minimag body and blue it with some gun blueing, as well as blue all the silver hardware on the gun, to give it a custom look. Plus I plan to warp the whole marker so I would need a powerfeed and those ULE bodies are centerfeed. As for the list up top if I order it directly from AGD it will cost $650 w/out shipping, which is a pretty good deal. When I'm done with it it will be as fast shooting as an RT, but with a better barrel and nicer look, have all the AGD upgrades possible, and only be a little more expensive then buying a stock RT.

                Nate,

Be advised that the Mag bodies are stainless steel, and don't take well to gun blue (I'll assume cold blue)

I want to do the same thing, but I don't have enough money for the x-valve. I want to know how much a normal minimag valve set up will cost me (I couldn't find a price anywhere).

                  Cheers

Oh no way I didnt even think about that Russ. I use gun blueing on my old knives and hatchets, I completely forgot that this would be stainless steel. I'll probably just end up getting a polished mainbody and keeping it the way it is for now, and maybe sending it somewhere to get powder-coated in the future. No matter what I do to it the thing is gonna look really nasty, now its all a matter of putting together the cash to get all this stuff. Heres an idea of what I'll have when I'm done.

-Completely Upgraded Minimag (list at top of page)
-Smart Parts Total Freak Barrel System (10" and 18" fronts)
                    -Nitro Duck 68/4500 Tank
                    -AGD Warp Feed
                    -12v Revvie (until I get a Halo)
-gas-thru grip, drop forward, the usual

The end result will be pretty amazing, I intend to have two or three different setups. One will be the tournament setup, which utilizes all the above things mentioned. Another will be a rec setup that I plan to completely build myself, which will look like something off of this page http://www.extremesportsandhobbies.com/m1carbine.html. And lastly if I can get the parts together I hope to have a working pump kit so I can play a little bit of stock class.
