    aarrgh...E-mag is fried!!!

Took out my E-mag tonight to clean and get ready to use this weekend. Tried to shoot in electronic mode and a real light smoke started to come out of the grip .....some one from Airgun help?!?!?! Is there anything I can do to fix it here or am I going to have to send it in. How long is the repair backlog now????

I think you should call them...Maybe that would work better. Too bad that happened.

I believe that's the solenoid resistor or a voltage regulator. It's obviously blown. AGD will gladly replace it at no charge, so long as you weren't trying to modify something when this happened. Just call to get an RMA number and you can send it in for a new board.

I did notice paint had gotten into the insides from a ball break I had on the grip. Could that have caused it to short?

You know, they just don't want to work when you let the smoke out of the parts. Send it back and we will put the smoke back in.

Yeah, most electronics work that way, once you let the magic blue smoke genie out they stop working. Paint probably didn't have anything to do with it, sometimes you just run into some bad eggs that slipped past quality control. I bought a DIMM a year ago that had one of the chips pressed onto the board at a 15 degree angle. Needless to say it didn't work.

Make sure the emag is not turned on when plugging or unpluging the intelifeed. If it shorts you will smoke the emag
