Chrome plating

hey guys i got my gun all the upgrades i want and/or need. I was wondering if anyone out there has had a gun chrome plated. I was wondering if there is anything special u have to do so chrome doesnt get onb the inside the body or barrel. Any suggestions you have please feel free to reply! Thank jake

Using laquer, coat everything you don't want plated. After you are done the plating process, you can remove the laquer with toluene or thinner.

what is laquer? like the **** thats left over in carberators after u leave gas in them for a long time

Why would u want to chrome plate and make it heavy when u can polish it and make it look like chrome w/o adding weight? i polished mine and it looks just liek chrome, very shiny. i used wet/dry(waterproof) sandpaper, 3 sheets each of 320 grit, 600 grit, 1000 grit, and 1500 grit. u keep the body and sandpaper wet all the time and just rub it like crazy, use half the sheets of one grit for lengthwise sanding and the other half for perpendicular sanding so its even. it will look great and its less expensive. if u have any more questions just ask.

Polished aluminum is soft and oxidizes. It is hard to keep shiney. Annodizing the aluminum will work. Chrome will work.

Laquer is a type of paint. You can get it in clear or in colors.

well yeah that would apply to aluminium, but automags are stainless. (minimag and classic). stainless steel polished is fine, and u dont lose any strength to it.

As jman44 mentioned, I wouldn't even try to chrome the body. Its fine the way it is if its polished. If it isn't polished, it can be done quite easily with a little elbow gease.:)

nah its not tht polishing isnt good its what sounds and looks better "Chrome" or "Polished" exactly chrome
