    Non-Responive first shoot

I'm shooting a classic RT with a lvl 10, intelliframe, and Apocalypse 88/45 (output 850). I'm having problems with my first shot after leaving the gun idle for any amount of time (5-10 minutes). The trigger doesn't seem to fire on as short a pull as all subsequent shots. I've tried to get it to happen by slowly firing (pulling every 2 or 3 seconds) and it doesn't do it. It doesn't do it when firing quickly either. It just seems to be that first shot. I just had my Apocalypse reg factory rebuilt and I've tested it myself (Guardian) and there is no inconsistency in gas delivery. Any thoughts?

ok, your carrier o-ring is most likely too tight. lube up that baby real nice, or go up a carrier.

either way, lube it up good.

      1. Either your imput is too low and you're shooting on the limits of your LVL 10 (it happens if you use too long a spring at too low a velocity) What's your set-up?

      2. Or it's just an RT/Retro + LVL10 problem, it should go away if you degass and regass your marker. (I've heard of this happening before, try doing a search, I know there have been posts on it by folks like Schnitzel)

they're both right, and mav's correct, i've had the same problem.

it's your carrier...and it's too small. go up one, more size, and see what it does. when it happened to me, it wouldn't fire after sitting for 5-10 mins, like you said. before i knew what was wrong, i was forced to degass and regass every time it happened. this procedure is only useful in keeping your butt out of trouble during play.

        report back when you do.

Allright, here's the same problem along the same lines except with a classic valve...

Say you're shooting mid spring trying to stay under 270 fps and having that problem.

Carrier fits well (no leaks) and you have no previous recock problems, except now when you make a run between bunkers the gun goes to pressurized on/off but no operation.

Is it the size of the carrier, the input pressure, or something more devious?

P.S. Schnitzel- One of these days you'll have to get out here and go over my Lvl 10 with me, I can run it well but I don't think I'm doing it all that great.

Thanks for all your help on this. I was replacing all the o-rings in my valve after I posted this (see my other post about a leak when I hold down the trigger) and decided I would just replace the lvl 10 o-ring.

I left everything else the same and gassed up, and it worked perfectly.

I've tried to get it to recreate the problem but I can't. I've probably gone through and degassed and regassed the gun a dozen times putting 100-200 dry fires, at diffrent intervals, through each time and it seems to be working.

That being said I still get a leak when I hold the trigger, but I'm working on that. Not to cling to this thread with a new problem, but I would welcome any suggestions. I've already replaced the on/off o-rings and checked the on/off pin for any scratches (which there are none). I've had my RT since 97ish (maybe it was 98) and have never had this problem until last weekend.

Thanks again for all your help.
