I have a question about barrel flex...

How muh does a barrel on a mag flex (due to the fact that we use O-rings to keep the barrel tight to the body) I have a few buds who argue that there will never be a way for mags to be as accurate as cockers or whatever because the barrel flexes. I am sure Tom (or one of his many denizens) tested this and if it effected the accuracy they would ave went to a threaded barrel but my question still stands. How much and what did the tests show????

i just screwed in the little pointer guy in the body where the barrel catches so its unreasonably tight
Drive it like you stole it.
Shoot it like you borrowed it.

The ball isn't in the barrel long enough for the barrel to flex and cause a drop in accuracy. This has been discussed many times before.

I remember seeing one of the first automags...

It was probably a prototype. The barrel did not have orings and actually "wobbled" in the frame. It still shot fairly straight. I did tell who ever had it that they needed to fix that (can't remember if it was Tom, memory is the first thing to go). I can't imagine that it can flex enough to matter.

            easy enough to test

Seems like it would be easy enough to stand side by side at the target range and test the theory...

I would place the gun in a "vise" to insure the gun itself doesn't move. Give it a try and let us know.
