    LX problems

I have installed my level 10 on my brand new minimag. 1.5 carrier, 2 shims, worked great for 40-60 shots. Then disaster! Massive leak down barrel. Went smaller carrier, less/more shims, changing the o-rings, the whole 9 yards. Nothing, still leaks. Then took out the regulator, pulled out the on/off valve, oiled, put back together. No leak. Fired 20-30 shots and guess what, disaster. Barrel leak, again. What am i doing wrong? When i press on the trigger slightly, the leak stops. Please Help!!!

Run it with the 1.5 carrier and NO shims. Make sure your field strip screw is tightened with an allen wrench. Use the short "gold" spring.

Where is the small leak coming from? Also... make sure that your gas lines arent leaking. I had a brand new minimag and it was leaking out of the threads of the 90 degree elbow in the vertical adapter. The whole time I was installing my LX I thought it was leaking down the barrel.

i am positive it is not the elbows. yesterday i shot about 300 rounds out of it, no leaks whatsoever. i'll stick with what i got until i hear it leak again, then i'll try removing the shims. thanks for all the help!

i played with my mag for the first time today. leaked at first, but then i took out the shims and went with the 1.0 carrier, worked great all day! Now, as i look down my armson barrel i noticed a cut in the middle inside. could this be the cause of my ball breaking in the barrel 3 times today?? please let me know. its a brand new barrel so if the deep scratch inside causes the ball to break, i'll send it back.

Yea, a deep cut in the barrel is very likley causing the barrel breaks. Since it's brand new, I'd exchange it.

Move down to the .5 carrier. Your oring is wearing in. This is perfectly normal. Just remember to use the current oring.

I installed a LX in my first mag (1.5 carrier/2 shims) and after about 2-3 cases I had to move to 1.0 carrier/0 shims but I havn't had to switch it again. Once the o-ring breaks in you shouldnt have to go down more than one carrier. If your gun is still leaking with the 0 carrier and it will shoot with the long/med spring, I would suggest starting over with a new carrier o-ring. Even though you are supposed to keep the same o-ring when switching around carriers, you really have no other choice.
