Question about velocity, consistency, and freak inserts

OK, I was having some trouble with velocity, consistency, and my Freak inserts at my last tourney. Should I adjust the velocity by changing Freak sizes (not like only the tips, but for a few bps or so) or what? What is the best fit for balls in the freak? Im not real sure about all this, so if someone could help Id appreciate it!
    Thanks

I usually pick the insert that the paintballs blow out of easily, but don't just roll thru. I also try to shoot around 280, not the limit but it seems more accurate to me.

In general, the larger the barrel bore the more consistent and the less efficient. Conversely, the smaller the bore the less consistent and more efficient.
