Thanks to everyone in the Tech Forum (pics)

From the bottom of my heart thank you to all that helped me get my E-Mag together. Today I finally got to shoot it.

Little background: 6 years ago I got out of paintball.. it stopped being fun... the last straw was when I was at a tournament and someone pulled a knife on someone else after the game they just played.. people were fighting, cheating.. etc.. the sportsmanship had gone away and the sport I loved so much was not fun anymore. Well.. in about 7 hours I am about to go play my first game in 6 years. I sure hope it's fun still.. the great people in this forum remind me of the great people I first played with long ago with splatmasters that wanted to do something different and fun.

It's great to have a forum where I can get useful answers from fellow players.

Well after 2 months I finally got my E-Mag altogether!:

Thanks again everyone!!!! See ya out on the field :)

      Thanks man :)

Yeah thats heat shrink on the SS line, everyone at the chrono station and HPA fill station asked me about it and said it looks real nice. Took me an hour to get it all on, I took my time and wanted it to look nice :)

I just wish my damn redz harness would come in... this gun can really throw paint, and all I could carry was 400 rounds..

So first day and I was impressed with the e-mag.. it threw walls of paint that got questions from refs, lol and with that dye boomstick I was dead on. It's just that this damn thing is HEAVY! Oh my god.. my arms are so sore.. I'm gonna be ripped after this summer, hehe

Welcome back to the game! I quit in 1995, sounds like similar situation, but no knives.

I came back a couple years ago to lots of new toys. Had to upgrade to a Retro, and an EMAG soon followed. After gasping at the huge weight difference between the Retro and my old mini valve, I would agree that the Emag is a tank. LOL...

After coming out of the tourney environment, how was it to go play again? Did you play open/walkon?

First time I played walkon, here is what happened...

I was working the left tape, and got a little bored. There was a big wire spool about 70' in front of me, with someone behind it. I had the two guys to my right lay down coverfire. I got up and ran to the spool and to my surprise was a small wide eyed 12 year old. ...I froze... Luckily, he rolled back around the spool and one of the guys laying down coverfire hit him. I dove behind the spool and took out 4 guys in next 3 seconds, before a 5th guy hit me.

After the game, a ref, who I had played tourney with several years before, came and said "You weren't going to Orange Crush that little kid were you Rob?"

I replied "Oh, I would never do that playing walkon." :)

"I just wanted to check", said the ref "cause it almost looked like it from across the field" ...

Here is my answer to the heavy EMAG situation.

BTW, I cheated and used Radio Shack 3/8" Spiral Cable Wrap. $5 is enough to do a couple guns, and it goes on in 5 min.

If you really need to reduce the weight, get a ULE body and an Evo II. Also, if you get your rail milled out, you can cut out about 3.5 ounces there. I can do rail milling. You can see my ad in the dealer's forum.

Also, PBGear has Titanium Boomsticks in 16" and 18" for $60. Can't beat that price for superlight barrel and the same sound and looks of the DYE SS Boomstick.

Man it was great to play again! There was about 100 people there so 50 on 50.. I ran out of paint FAST with that eMag (Damm Redz and their back ordered packs). It was really fun, good people, young kids to older people. I got a lot of hits so it seems i still have a little left in me, lol

It was great that my eMag got so much attention. I went to the chrono station and un-loaded 200 rounds in about 20 seconds, everyone turned around and came over asking what I had. hehe

The guy at the HPA station really liked my setup and so did the owner. The most comon thing I heard was "That gun sounds different from the rest and I know how fast it shoots so when I heard it I just kept down until you had to reload"

hehehe... and with the boomstick I was dead on. That Flatline worked great too, glad I invested in a good air system.

I can't wait to play next weekend, i had so much fun.. I am glad it's still fun to play. :)

just the weight of the gun.. oh man.. yeah Black, the ULE and a ti boomstick sounds good.. but man, after how much I spent so far.. I'm gonna wait awhile. What kills me is the field I play at is BIG, and it's on hills, and I'm out of shape.. so carrying this beast with a full hopper up a hill a mile away did me in. By the time the game started I was tired. I need to find a nice small speed ball field next time, lol

The ULE rail and body make a significant difference in weight. If you are on a budget, having BlackVCG mill out your rail is a good way to lighten the load without lightening your wallet too much.
