Power Tube Assembly O-Ring? Not the one you think...

I had a rather rude problem with my EMag Valve last night...

My powertube assembly was leaking, at the base where the whole tube screws in. So, I unscrew it (easily, it was loose) and there is an o-ring in there which has shredded.

This isn't in the diagrams I have. As well, there is no replacement oring in the store. It's the same size as the barrel o-ring, but about 1/5th the thickness.

Being that I *was* at a field, I wandered through all the different marker kits and found a o-ring from the phyranah parts kit that was close. With some effort to screw it back in, it is now working.

So, is this a oring that should wear out? Comments? I've included a pic of where on the Emag Valve the power tube unscrewed...

The powertube assembly isn't supposed to come off. That's a locktite and go thing if I remember correctly. Might be an AGD only fix...

It's a pinkish/orange o-ring and it's not a service part, so that's why you can't find one anywhere. AGD does have them, and to get your valve fixed you need to send in the valve and they'll put a new o-ring on the PT and loctite it back into place.

Would locktighting it as Dayspring suggested work? IE without the O-Ring?

Conversley, do you think they would send me the o-ring if I asked nice? :)

            You can try...

If you do it by yourself, get the proper o-ring and use red Loctite 271.

I had the same thing happen to my old valve - hadn't been used for years and the power tube tip had manage to weld itself into place. When I tried to get it off with vice + pliers (had already purchased a new one as I knew I'd be mangling the old) I unscrewed the whole tube. Oops.

Luckily the seal on mine wasn't damaged, so I just cleaned it up, applied some of the high strength loctite and screwed it back together, not had a problem since.
