Is it normal for a mag to stop firing when my HPA tank (4500psi) hits 1000psi left?

Only if you're using the longest Level 10 spring and a really tight carrier.
What exactly is your set up/Velocity?

I sometimes question the readings on those tank gauges at the lower pressure readings. Mine has done the same thing (stopping at around 1000psi) in the past. Lately though, I have noticed it shoots until my pressure is down around 650psi. I don't know why. I think the more you exercise your mag the better the mag regulator works and the less pressure differential you need to recharge your mag valve. I did notice that the mag coughed more at the lower pressure due to a significant lag in the recharge times.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

Well i just built this mag... It has an xvalve, and I didn't start tinkering with the carrier or the spring yet. I was happy when it started firing.
I'm thinking maybe the xvalve hasn't been broken in yet?
I don't know, this if my first mag.
Another question I have, is how do you tell what operating pressure an mag valve is running at?Comment
